Description

(Full Text)

Delay dns lookups until connect time (run-time option)

Author Comments

Hi -

I've got a laptop that I use stunnel on to relay email to my mail
server. Stunnel listens on port 25 and tunnels the connection. The
server only relays email for secure connections on port 465.

The problem is that sometimes I don't have the network card in the
laptop when it boots, and stunnel dies immediately when it's run from
the laptop's rc.local, since the DNS lookup fails. So I've added a
switch to stunnel causing it to delay hostname lookups until it actually
has to make the connection. Patch included (against stunnel 3.14).
   Hope others find it useful...
