3.1.17 stuff

I never noticed this before... I started the applications in the suite
from an xterm right after building them. Everything works fine, but xfiler
and xedplus both return:

XpmReadFileToPixmap returns XpmOpenFailed

but then continues to load just fine, icons look fine, etc., and
everything works. Anyone know what I've messed up?
