Short descriptions:

PGT by MPI: pgt.zip 0.1MB
A rotozoomer, fire, some 2d pobs.. nothing much else. Ugly. Soundtrack is alphaville's "big in Japan" with probably 3 channels.

Crispy by Whiteshade & Phantom: crispy.zip 0.6MB
Poor graphics & poor code. Poor thing. The #Coders most probably had more fun than the viewers will =).

Beauty & the Beast by Noice: bnb.zip 0.7MB
Some grid & raycast effects. Goa trance soundtrack. The only major minus is: Horrible textures.

Bad Mutha by Alpha Design: ad_bad.zip 0.3MB
From the author of "worst demo in TMDC1", a quite oldschool demo that charmed the jury with some cute design fx. According to author, it was designed on a 386sx.

When will you rage by Kolor: garou.zip 0.8MB
Mostly crossfades and some raycasted fx. Soundtrack by Cybelius/Orange.

Ajan DilatAAtio by tAAt: aikaqkqu.zip 0.7MB
Although it comes from the Finnish jokegroup, this demo is technically pretty good. Soundtrack goes west. (IMO, this is the best demo from tAAt up to date, although that doesn't neccessarily say much).

Spaceless by Portal Project: pp_sless.zip 1.4MB
Made by the coder who finished #3 in TMDC1, this demo is by far the best I've seen from the author. It makes textmode look *good*. Get it NOW!

Tahma by Recreation: rcn-tahf.zip 1.4MB
This demo simply kicks ass. This is the reason why I started TMDC in the first place. Also happens to be the best demo Recreation has made (IMO). Get it NOW!

About the votesystem

Each demo gets anything between 0 and 1 points from every voter. Then an average is calculated to each demo, and multiplied by 100% to get "acceptance factor". (In practise every voter gave any number of points to every demo and they were scaled to 0..1 range by a handy vote calculator). A rating of 100% would mean that everyone gave it best points and 0% would mean worst.

In general, the quality of TMDC demos rose a lot. 'PGT' is better than the worst demo last year, and 'Tahma' makes some of the top graphics-mode demos look bad. I suppose last year's winner would have finished 4th this year.

Commentary

"Tremor" by DEMOlition (tremor.zip)
A demo from Singapore. Ever heard of the Singaporean scene? They even have their own annual party. To see the cream of Singaporean scene, check out the demos by Waterlogic.
  + Arrived very, very early.
  + Very good "palette" - probably hand-made?
  - Nothing really new.
  - Greets are almost unreadable.

"Spaceless Spot" by tAAt (spspot.zip)
Another production from the Finnish jokegroup. Mostly animation.
  + Arrived early.
  + Starts well.
  - Not too many real effects.
  - Not much of a design.

"Textosis" by Vinlandia (textosis.zip)
So, there are more than two groups in the .ca scene after all =)
  + Arrived early.
  + Nice ansi logo.
  - A bit amateurish.
  - Leaves machine in very unstable state.

"Dentaalispirantti" by tAAt (different coder) (dentaali.zip)
Bunch of old routines, but at least it shows that those routines
CAN be used in textmode as well.
+ Same stuff you'd expect in gfx modes.
  - Tad bit short

"Textmode windows" by Five Coders (5c_tw.zip)
No, textmode is not enough even for me :) Too bad it's largely a joke.. the routines would have been enough for something grand.
  + RealTime RayTracing
  + SidPlay musics :)
  - It's still a joke.

"Fartart" by tAAt (disqualified) (fartart.zip)
This was disqualified since it's almost same as "Spaceless spot" and I don't want to let someone grab too many prizes with the same crap :)

"True Lameness" by Alpha Design (ad_lame.zip)
I didn't expect anything from this one, and was positively surprised. It's *not* a brilliant piece of art. It's just a demo coded in basic. 'Crap' might be a good word.
  + Good try :)
  + Shadepobs!! :)

"D'Orzo" by Recreation (rcn-orzo.zip)
This is what even I'd call a demo.
+ color use, vector engine, etc etc. the stuff you'd expect from
    a 'real' demo these days.

"TEXTASY" by The Enterprise Crew (TEC) (txtc1.zip)
This one arrived really late - part of the juring had to be redone. We accepted it anyway since the author had had some hardware problems..
  + Original.
  - Late.
