I thumbed through it today at the bookstore. I was particularly interested in how a driver uses a handle in the proc filesystem to write information to a process willing to read, like kmsg does. In my thumbing I did not really get my answer. The book looked decent but what really disappointed me was that despite it's being a 1996 release, it only covers version 1.2 kernels. I now realize that this is because it was a translation from another book. :-( I really would like to see an updated version of this book! It would definately be on my bookshelf if it got updated. b.
