File: JuggleTime Author: Envision, Inc.; Dunning; wdunning@envision-inc.com Release: 08/25/97 Compatibility: PR Location: ftp://ftp.be.com/pub/contrib/productivity/JuggleTime.zip Description: Multiple time zone clock w/3D earth & moon This is the first installment of several modules to the Juggle calendar and contact management product. People who deal with customers in multiple time zones will appreciate the ability to launch a separate clock for each zone they deal with regularly. Installation: 1. Place the JuggleTime.zip file in the /boot/home/ folder and unzip it. It will create a folder called Juggle. 2. Move the lib3d.so library from the newly created /boot/home/Juggle/ folder to the /boot/beos/system/lib/ folder. This library is not yet fully tested. It is included for use in running this freeware demo application only and is not to be distributed. 3. Move the /boot/home/Juggle/Juggle folder (with the two settings files in it) to the /boot/home/config/settings/ folder. 4. Create a link from the JuggleTime application file in /boot/home/Juggle/ to the /boot/apps/ folder. Operation: 1. Launch the application from the apps folder. It will display the current system time and the time zone that the settings file says your computer is operating in. 2. Click on the time or location to pop up a menu for selecting a city whose time you wish to view, language you wish to change to, or to specify a new local time zone. 3. Launch as many copies as you want - if you change the local time zone in one of the applications, it will not affect the others currently running, but will affect any new launches. I'm not quite sure how to deal with that "feature" yet. Any comments? In progress: 1. It replicates, but with surprising results on restart. Also, it won't replicate the 3d view yet. We're working on it. 2. Several locations are loaded by default. You can edit the Juggle_time_locations settings file by hand to add or delete locations if you wish. It uses this format: "99; location_name; hrs_from_GMT; mins_from_GMT; location_name; hrs_from_GMT; mins_from_GMT; . . . ; -99". The list/add/delete dialog box does not function yet, but we hope to have it operational by the next release. 4. Multiple language support is planned, but the language menu only allows English as of this release. 5. The two gray spheres are place holders for an image mapped 3D earth and moon that will represent the time of day and the position of the moon realtive to the current hour and current date. That's all for now. (Copyright 1997, Envision, Inc.; all rights reserved.)
