Hi there - done some browsing in internet and found several sites with pin-outs from 1084 Commodore Video Monitor. The problem is that there's different 1084 monitor versions and the pin-outs that I found are wrong so, this could be usefull for anyone who wants to homebrew a DB23 to DB9 cable. Note: My monitor is the 1084S-D1 version. Pin-Outs (Solder view - pin 1 = upper left) (1084S DB9) (Amiga RGB) Pin 1: Blue ----------------- Pin 05 Pin 2: Green ---------------- Pin 04 Pin 3: Red ------------------ Pin 03 Pin 4: Ground --------------- Pin 17 Pin 5: Ground --------------- Pin 16 Pin 6: Vertical Sync -------- Pin 12 Pin 7: Horizontal Sync ------ Pin 11 Pin 8: Composite Sync ------- Pin 10 Pin 9: Unused I think that you don't need one of the grounds (4 or 5) and you can select pin 8 only for analog video or pin 7 and 8 for digital but you have to use Amiga (below) pin 6 to DB9 pin 9 and switch the Analog colors for the digital ones. Amiga RGB DB23 Pin-out ---------------------- Pin Name Description 1 XCLK External Clock 2 XCLKEN External Clock Enable 3 RED Analog Red 4 GREEN Analog Green 5 BLUE Analog Blue 6 DI Digital Intensity (47 Ohm) 7 DB Digital Blue (47 Ohm) 8 DG Digital Green (47 Ohm) 9 DR Digital Red (47 Ohm) 10 CSYNC Composite Sync 11 HSYNC Horizontal Sync (47 Ohm) 12 VSYNC Vertical Sync (47 Ohm) 13 GNDRTN Return for XCLKEN 14 ZD Zero Detect (47 Ohm) 15 C1 Clock Out 16 GND 17 GND 18 GND 19 GND 20 GND 21 -12V -12 Volts DC (50ma) 22 +12V +12 Volts DC (100 mA) 23 +5V +5 Volts DC (100mA) Well you can always try but this connection works just fine to me!
