gLite

APT Repository for gLite 3_0_0

Overview

This APT repository is provided to ease the installation of the gLite 3_0_0 packages on system supporting the RPMS package format. The following source specification can be used to configure your local apt cache:

rpm http://lxb2042.cern.ch/gLite/APT/R3.0-int rhel30 externals Release3.0 updates

Getting started

Create a file (for example glite-rhel30.list) in the directory /etc/apt/sources.list.d directory containing the source specification string and run

apt-get update

To install APT and configure it for gLite, use the following steps:

rpm -ivh http://linuxsoft.cern.ch/cern/slc30X/i386/SL/RPMS/apt-0.5.15cnc6-8.SL.cern.i386.rpm
wget http://lxb2042.cern.ch/gLite/APT/R3.0-int/rhel30/glite-rhel30.list -O /etc/apt/sources.list.d/glite-rhel30.list
apt-get update
apt-get install <package-name>

Repository content

The RPMS contained in this repository are divided in the following directories:

Release3.0	(base gLite 3.0 packages)
externals		(external packages required to install gLite 3.0)
updates		(updated packages released after the base packages)
